Description:

Established in June 2020, the Global Partnership on AI (GPAI) is an international initiative dedicated to the responsible development and use of artificial intelligence (AI) based on a “human-centric” view.
One of the working groups discusses the “Future of Work.”As a side event of the GPAI Summit 2022, we will discuss how the future of work would be different if there were AI/robot avatars that share, expand, or merge physical, cognitive, and perceptual abilities that could transcend the physical limitations that everyone is born with.
For example, a person who has disabilities and difficult to going out could remotely control a robot avatar to serve customers at a café; a single person could move multiple robots to serve customers and serve food at the same time; or two people could decorate a single dessert plate; all of which are possible ways of working without physical constraints or rather extensions. On the other hand, to promote new ways of working, it is necessary to develop guidelines for working styles and design a society that tolerates diverse work styles.
At this side event, robot avatar "pilots" participating in the JST Moonshot R&D Program “Cybernetic being” Project will take the stage in their robot avatars to discuss the future possibilities and challenges of work created through co-creation with AI and robots.
